Features

Statuses you define, relationships that do the work.

Your statuses, defined by you

STATE doesn't come with a fixed list of what your team's states should be. You define them.

  • FLOOR
  • STOCKROOM
  • BREAK
  • CLOSING
  • DEEP WORK
  • IN REVIEW
  • BLOCKED
  • ON CALL

A retail store might use FLOOR, STOCKROOM, BREAK, and CLOSING. A remote dev team might use DEEP WORK, IN REVIEW, BLOCKED, and ON CALL. Whatever your team actually does, that's what shows up. Not what a generic tool assumed you'd do.

This is available on every plan, free and paid.

State Tree

Statuses in STATE are not just labels. They can have relationships with each other.

A simple example: if someone sets their state to DEEP WORK, STATE can automatically signal DO NOT DISTURB to the rest of the team. If someone is BLOCKED, STATE can flag that visibility to a team lead so someone can step in. Your team defines those relationships themselves, the same way they define the statuses.

Basic State Tree, including simple relationships between statuses, is available on the free tier. Advanced logic, including deeper chains, conditional triggers, and more complex relationship rules, is part of the paid tier.

How it works

  1. Create your company and workspace

Sign up, create your company, and set up your first workspace in minutes. Free tier includes up to 5 members across your company, with unlimited workspaces on every plan.

  2. Define your statuses

Name the states that reflect how your team actually works. No limits on how many you create.

  3. Set your state

Every team member sets their current state. The whole team sees what's happening in real time, in terms that actually mean something.

That's it. No complicated setup. No onboarding call required.

Use cases

A small retail store in Baguio City

A store with 6 staff needs to know who's on the floor, who's in the stockroom, who's on break, and who's closing up. A fixed IN/OUT tool tells them nothing useful. With STATE, the manager sees FLOOR, STOCKROOM, BREAK, and CLOSING in real time.

BREAK UNAVAILABLE TO CUSTOMERS

BREAK automatically signals UNAVAILABLE TO CUSTOMERS so no one sends a customer to the wrong person.

CLOSING WRAP UP TASKS

CLOSING triggers WRAP UP TASKS visible only to the manager. The team didn't have to learn a new system. They just named what they already do.

A remote startup team

A 5 person team working across different schedules needs more than a green dot.

DEEP WORK DO NOT DISTURB

With STATE, DEEP WORK signals DO NOT DISTURB without anyone having to say it in a chat.

ON CALL FLAGS TEAM

ON CALL flags to the team immediately so nobody waits hours for a response that isn't coming.

The team defined every one of those states themselves, and the State Tree handles the communication that used to happen manually.
